Clinic Policies

From January, the walk in clinic will open from 9.30am to 6pm Monday- Friday and on Saturday 9am-2pm. Clinic is closed for Christmas from 23rd December to 30th December 2024

We kindly request your attention to the following essential policies and procedures
School & Work Documents
Please ensure timely submission of forms/documents requiring the doctor’s attention, allowing a minimum of 72 hours before the due date. Note that specific forms may require additional processing time, and you can verify waiting times through the reception. It is advisable to schedule an appointment when submitting or collecting forms for the doctor’s review. Some form submissions may incur costs, as certain services may not be covered by OHIP.
Prescriptions

For prescription refills, kindly schedule an appointment (this may be by telephone/in-person) to consult with the doctor. There is an administrative fee for prescriptions sent to the pharmacy without an appointment. In case of urgent medication needs, please contact the office and allow a 3-business day period for prescription requests to be processed. Feel free to inquire at the reception about our updated policy on opioid prescriptions.

Appointment Times

While we strive to maintain our appointment schedule, unforeseen situations may occasionally cause delays. To assist us in adhering to appointment times, please limit each appointment to one primary concern, as general appointments are allocated 10 minutes. Arriving on time is crucial, and if you are more than 10 minutes late, we may need to adjust the schedule to accommodate other patients. Please inform the front staff about the purpose of your appointment. Note that a fee is applicable for no-show, missed appointments or late appointments

Lateness and no shows

We understand that life can get busy and unplanned things happen. We advise that if you are unable to attend your appointment, kindly contact the clinic to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours before your appointment time. If you are over 10 minutes late, we may ask you to wait till a spot is free before the doctor can see you. If you are unable to wait or do not turn up for your appointment or cancel within 24 hours, this may incur a charge. If there are any concerns please speak with reception to discuss further.

Annual Physicals/Wellness Checks
Our approach to annual physicals has evolved. The College of Family Physicians now recommends wellness checks at least once a year, focusing on health screenings (e.g., PAPS, Mammogram, and colon cancer screenings) and vaccinations. You can book an appointment at any time to discuss current health concerns. Please refer to the Choosing Wisely article on annual physicals for additional information.
Doctors’ Note

Please see a doctor as soon as possible on the first day of your illness especially if you anticipate that a sick note will be required by your employer. We will NOT provide a sick note to cover any days of illness that cannot be evidenced.
